Smiling patient with Dr. Arti Kumari after treatment

Many people want whiter or more even teeth before a wedding, a new job, or because they have started hiding their smile in photos. Cosmetic dentistry at Dantiki Dental Clinic covers teeth whitening, tooth-coloured bonding for chipped teeth or small gaps, and planning for bigger smile changes. Each option suits some problems and not others.

That is why every cosmetic treatment starts with a checkup. Cavities, gum problems and worn fillings need care first, and a cleaning often shows that teeth are lighter than they looked. Dr. Arti Kumari then explains what each option can realistically change, what it cannot, and how long results usually last.

Patients come for cosmetic from Sectors 85 to 95, Hayatpur and the rest of New Gurgaon, and from the Dwarka Expressway sectors. The clinic is open every day, including Sunday mornings.

When cosmetic treatment can help

Yellow or dull teeth

Teeth that have turned yellow with age, tea, coffee or tobacco, even after a professional cleaning.

Chipped front tooth

A small chip or rough edge on a front tooth, often from a fall or biting something hard.

Small gap between teeth

A small space between the front teeth that bothers you, where the bite is otherwise healthy.

Old fillings look dark

Front fillings that have stained or no longer match the colour of the teeth around them.

White or brown patches

Patches on the enamel, including those from fluorosis, which often need more than whitening alone.

How cosmetic treatment works at Dantiki

  1. Check

Dr. Arti examines your teeth, gums and old fillings, with a digital X-ray if needed. Cavities and gum problems are treated first.

  2. Clean

Scaling and polishing remove tartar and surface stains, so you see your natural shade before deciding on whitening.

  3. Plan

You discuss what bothers you. Dr. Arti explains which options suit your teeth, what to expect and what each one cannot do.

  4. Treat

For in-clinic whitening (bleaching), your gums are covered with a protective barrier and the gel is applied to natural teeth. For bonding, tooth-coloured material is shaped onto the tooth and set with a curing light.

  5. Review

The result is checked against how your teeth looked before, and you get advice on keeping stains away.

How many visits does it take?

Bonding a chipped tooth or a small gap is usually done in a single visit. Whitening may need one or more sessions, depending on the method and how your teeth respond. A wider smile plan that combines cleaning, fillings, whitening, bonding or crowns can take several visits over a few weeks. If whitening is part of the plan, it is usually done first, so that new fillings, bonding or crowns can be matched to your new shade.

Teeth whitening cost in Gurgaon: what affects it

The cost depends on which treatment you choose and how many teeth are involved. Bonding a single chipped tooth is a much smaller job than a full smile plan. The exact estimate is shared after examination, before treatment starts, so you can decide what is worth doing.

  • Whitening, bonding or a combined plan
  • Number of teeth treated
  • Number of in-clinic whitening sessions
  • Fillings or cleaning needed first
  • Replacing old fillings to match

Caring for your results

  • Mild sensitivity to cold or sweet things, or slightly sore gums, is common for a few days after whitening and usually settles on its own. Call the clinic if it is severe or lasts longer than a few days.
  • For the first two days after whitening, go easy on tea, coffee, haldi-rich curries and tobacco.
  • Avoid biting bones, nuts or pen caps directly with bonded edges.
  • Bonding can stain or chip over time, so have it checked and polished at regular visits.
  • Keep up regular checkups and cleanings, as often as Dr. Arti advises for you, to help the colour last longer.

Cosmetic: questions patients ask

Will whitening work on my crowns or fillings?

No. Whitening lightens natural tooth enamel only. Crowns, fillings, bonding and dentures keep their original colour. After whitening, visible front fillings or crowns may look darker than your teeth and may need replacing to match. Dr. Arti checks your existing work first and tells you about this before you start.

How white will my teeth get?

No dentist can promise an exact shade, because results depend on your natural tooth colour, the type of stain and how your teeth respond. Yellowish stains from age, tea or coffee usually respond well. Greyish stains, such as those from certain medicines taken in childhood or a tooth with a dead nerve, respond slowly or very little.

Does teeth whitening damage enamel?

Whitening done after a dental checkup, with professional products used as directed, is considered safe for most adults. The usual side effects are short-lived tooth sensitivity and mild gum irritation. Overusing whitening products can harm enamel and gums. Home tricks like rubbing lemon juice, rough baking soda pastes or charcoal on teeth are not proven to whiten safely, and acid or harsh scrubbing can wear enamel. Whitening is not usually done for children or teenagers under 18, and it is postponed during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

How long does whitening last?

It varies from person to person, but results usually last from several months to a few years. Tea, coffee, tobacco, paan and strongly coloured food bring stains back faster. Regular cleanings and good brushing help the colour last longer, and a touch-up can be discussed later if needed.

Can bonding close the gap between my front teeth?

Small gaps can often be closed or reduced with bonding, which adds tooth-coloured material to the sides of the teeth, usually in one visit and without an injection. Larger gaps, or gaps caused by gum disease or a bite problem, need a different approach, such as braces or gum treatment first.

Who should wait or avoid teeth whitening?

Whitening is not usually done for children or teenagers under 18, and it is postponed during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Cavities, gum problems and worn fillings are treated first. If your teeth are already sensitive, tell Dr. Arti, as whitening can make them more sensitive for a few days. Front crowns, fillings and bonding will not lighten, so they may need replacing afterwards to match. Dr. Arti checks all of this before suggesting whitening.

Are salon or online whitening kits safe?

Whitening from beauty salons, or kits bought online or from shops, may not work as well and can harm your teeth and gums. They are also used without a check for cavities, gum problems or old fillings. The safest option is whitening planned by a dentist after a checkup.
